Elva Ingraham is recognized for her extensive history of giving to UUCC in a
Recognition of Life-Long Commitment Ceremony on May 28, 2006.
She began attending services at the Winthrop Street Church as a child in the early '30s, a full 70 years ago; joining the church in 1938. Elva has been part of the religious exploration program from caring for children in the nursery through leading the senior youth. She has served on the Board of Trustees and as President of the congregation as well as on the ministerial search committee.
For
years, she provided the meals for church functions and for years the kitchen was
known as 'Elva's Kitchen'. She also used to bake a birthday for each
child in the congregation. It is reported that she also made a 'mean batch
of fudge'.
